Locraft Architecture is a residential studio that focuses on carefully considered design as a direct response to a client’s needs, context and style. We view each project as an opportunity to create beautiful spaces that support and elevate the experience of home.

Growing up the son of an architect — and being genuinely interested in both the technical and the creative sides of the profession — I have vivid memories of pulling a stool up to my father’s drafting table, and observing (and absorbing) the process. On the occasion I’d accompany him to a site measure or meeting, I saw first-hand the value of a keen attention to detail, a patient demeanor and a passion for the work.

That these traits were evident in my father was not surprising; the son of an architect himself, he was instilled with the desire to create, and the power to visualize. A product of a different era, he was also raised on the notion that integrity is everything, and that projects thrive on a mutual respect for everyone involved in making spaces, from the framing carpenter to the end user.

It is with these inherent values that I approach my work, and I take my responsibility to the community — as a citizen and as a professional — seriously. A Locraft has been practicing architecture in Washington since the early 1930s, and it gives me great pride to carry on that legacy.
